Essential Functions
  • Plans and implements activities related to the procurement of materials, parts, components, equipment and services
  • Directs the activities of buyers to accomplish company & department objectives
  • Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with Commodity Managers and manufacturing departments to maintain inventories at planned levels
  • Strong ability to identify and solve problems in and out of immediate work area and ensure materials are ordered and in stock to meet all revenue commitments and strategic objectives while maintaining acceptable inventory levels
  • Supervise buyer performance, execution and follow up with policies, procedures and material control systems
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Identify and Implement processes that are the most effective and compliant way to procure material for program needs
  • Responsible for leading and driving continuous improvement activities with the supply base to help reduce inventory through strategic initiatives such as Lead Time reduction, Min/MX, Kanban, consignment and vendor managed inventory programs
  • Interface daily with Production, Vendors, and Contract Manufacturers
  • Ensure timely receipt of materials to support the production schedule as well as pay attention to the components with long lead time
  • Deep understanding on Source to Pay process, with proven experience eliminating non-value-added processes
  • On hands experience with Oracle, able to develop reports to measure transactional KPI's

Required/Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Operations, Finance
  • 10+ years of experience in purchasing for high-tech manufacturing, managing a group of buyers
  • Lean Leader training/certification Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Previous team leadership experience, direct supervisory experience strongly preferred including talent development and resource planning
  • Previous experience with ERP/MRP systems, Oracle preferred
  • Microsoft Office Experience and PowerPoint Presentation Skills at the Senior Manager Level
  • Demonstrated supplier negotiation, decision-making, organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and detail orientation

The annual salary for this position is:
$120,000.00 to $150,000.00
