Position Summary

Endura Steel has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Manager. At Endura Steel, we supply the foundations for living. As a Robar Company, we contribute to the growth of our nation by supplying foundational construction materials used in residential, commercial, industrial, state, and federal construction projects.
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing purchasing strategies that support the company’s operational and financial objectives. This position operates from the central hub and supports the inventory and procurement needs of multiple branches while managing a team of buyers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements with mills and vendors.
  • Source and qualify new mills and suppliers.
  • Monitor steel market journals and commodity indexes to anticipate pricing trends.
  • Utilize MRP systems to forecast material requirements and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Support inventory needs across all branch locations.
  • Manage ERP purchasing functions and vendor performance tracking.
  • Integrate material cost and landed cost to ensure accurate inventory valuation.
  • Run inventory reports and oversee cycle counts with warehouse teams.
  • Support year-end inventory and audit coordination.
  • Manage freight strategy and third‑party carrier relationships.
  • Lead and develop a team of two buyers responsible for daily purchasing activities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.
  • 5+ years ERP experience (Epicor preferred).
  • Strong MRP planning and inventory forecasting experience.
  • Experience negotiating directly with mills and large suppliers.
  • Ability to source and qualify new mills and vendors.
  • Strong understanding of landed cost analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
