Role Description: The Purchasing Manager must have 10+ years of experience. As the Purchasing Manager, you will negotiate contracts for designated materials and services to support the company. This position assists with long-term plans and processes in order to achieve operational goals.

The Purchasing Manager establishes accurate material costing and maintains a smooth flow of raw material, components, resale, and services.

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience:

- Five or more years of experience in purchasing, procurement and supply chain management within steel industry

- Working knowledge of Company and/or metal building industry preferred.

- Economics or Business emphasis is helpful

- Must possess the ability to communicate and work well within a team environment toward common business goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Negotiate contracts for designated materials and services to support the Company.

- Facilitate the engagement, growth, and development of staff.

- Maintain a department culture of continuous improvement, learning, operational discipline and accountability.

- Maintain a smooth flow of raw material, components, resale, and services.

- Evaluate and strengthen partnerships with vendors, both new and existing.

- Establish accurate materials costing.

- Collaborate with various departments in order to establish and maintain satisfactory inventory levels while maintaining cost effective order methods and quantities.

- Assist and advise in scheduling inbound materials to maximize inventory returns without restricting production.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of a team that consists of three buyers.
