Job description

Growing Manufacturing Company has a need for a Purchasing Manager in Butte, MT. This is a direct hire role with a full benefits package and relocation.

Responsibilities include sourcing equipment, goods and services and bringing those items to the production floor. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of existing vendors, as well as searching for reliable new suppliers with improved costing structure. The responsibility for purchased items will also include oversight of receiving, inventory stocking, kitting and delivery to the shop floor. Ensure quantity and timing of component deliveries • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand • Track and follow up on procurements to ensure promised delivery dates are maintained • Manage receiving, inventory and kitting operations • Eliminate production parts shortages and issuing errors • Ensure accuracy of inventory counts in the ERP system • Manage buyers and inventory specialists • Write and execute Purchase Orders as needed • Follow historical and competitive vendor costs to obtain the best pricing possible to guard against price gouging Position Requirements • Proven working experience as purchasing manager, agent or officer • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management • A knack for negotiation and networking • Working experience of vendor management software • Ability to gather and analyze data in relation to cost, quality and delivery • Solid judgement along with decision making skills • Strong leadership capabilities • Strong Computer Skills • Familiarity and/or experience with ERP systems as a management tool • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Enthusiasm for working in a diverse, demanding, and exciting technology environment • Strong work ethic and team player attributes
