About the role
The Head Sommelier & Beverage Manager serves as both the beverage visionary for Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village and a key operational leader within Coin & Candor and Prosperous Penny. This position is responsible for developing and executing the property's overall beverage strategy while delivering exceptional luxury dining experiences that reflect the standards of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. As the leader of the hotel's beverage program, the Head Sommelier & Beverage Manager oversees all aspects of wine, spirits, beer, cocktails, zero-proof beverages, purchasing, inventory management, financial performance, menu development, and beverage education across all Food & Beverage outlets. While operationally serving as a Restaurant Manager within Coin & Candor and Prosperous Penny, this role provides strategic leadership for the beverage program throughout the property, ensuring consistency, innovation, and operational excellence.
What you will do
Leadership & Guest Experience
  • Lead daily operations within Coin & Candor and Prosperous Penny, ensuring exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
  • Deliver personalized wine and beverage experiences that exceed guest expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with VIPs, residents, and repeat guests while resolving service concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Foster a culture of excellence through visible leadership, coaching, and mentorship.

Beverage Program Leadership
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the hotel's beverage program across all outlets.
  • Curate innovative wine, cocktail, spirits, beer, coffee, tea, and non-alcoholic beverage offerings.
  • Establish beverage standards, recipes, presentation guidelines, and quality expectations.
  • Lead seasonal menu development and beverage innovation initiatives.

Wine & Financial Management
  • Maintain a world-class wine program, including cellar management, purchasing, vendor partnerships, and wine education.
  • Drive beverage revenue, profitability, menu engineering, and cost control strategies.
  • Oversee beverage purchasing, inventory management, pricing, and compliance.

Team Development & Training
  • Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of hospitality professionals.
  • Serve as the property's beverage expert and educator, leading training programs and tastings.
  • Promote a culture aligned with Four Seasons values of excellence, respect, and continuous improvement.

Marketing & Partnerships
  • Collaborate with Culinary, Marketing, and Hotel Leadership to create distinctive beverage experiences, wine dinners, activations, and special events.
  • Represent Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village within the local wine, beverage, and hospitality community.
  • Perform other job duties as requested by supervisors
