Job SummaryΒ 

The Purchasing AgentΒ is responsible forΒ procuringΒ materials, components, equipment, and services to support production and business operations at our Mills, WY office. This position works closely with internal departments and suppliers to ensureΒ timelyΒ delivery, cost-effective purchasing, andΒ accurateΒ inventory management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment whileΒ maintainingΒ a high levelΒ of accuracy.Β 

  • Source andΒ procureΒ materials, components, equipment, and services to support production schedules and business operations.Β 
  • Prepare, issue, and track PurchaseΒ Orders to ensureΒ timelyΒ delivery of goods and services.Β 
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, and order status.Β 
  • Build andΒ maintainΒ positive working relationships with suppliers to support quality, cost, and deliveryΒ objectives.Β 
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages while minimizing excess inventory, working withΒ theΒ Spare Part Coordinator.Β 
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure purchasing activities align with operational needs.Β 
  • ResolveΒ purchasingΒ discrepancies, invoice issues, shipping delays, and supplier concernsΒ in a timely manner.Β 
  • MaintainΒ accurateΒ purchasing records and vendor information within the ERP system.Β 
  • AssistΒ in obtaining competitive quotes and evaluating suppliers for quality, pricing, and service.Β 
  • Support inventory counts, receiving activities, and material reconciliation as needed.Β 
  • IdentifyΒ opportunities to improve purchasing processes, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.Β 
  • Abide by all policies and proceduresΒ establishedΒ by DISA.Β 
  • Attend andΒ participateΒ in all required safetyΒ training courses.Β 
  • AssistΒ with any task required by the direct supervisor.Β 

Requirements

Education/ExperienceΒ 

  • Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.Β 
  • 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience preferred.Β 
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite experience preferred).Β 
  • Manufacturing or industrial purchasing experience is a plus.Β 
  • Required SkillsΒ 
    • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.Β 
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Β 
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.Β
