Job Description

Job Title: Purchasing Assistant

DESCRIPTION:

The Purchasing Assistant will work within the Purchasing team to input data into ERP and other systems, contact vendors to inquire on current lead times and expected delivery of open orders. This position will utilize a high degree of accuracy and accountability in insuring data entered into the system is detailed and exact. This position must utilize a high standard of discretion when handling customer reports and other financial data.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews open orders and makes sure we have acknowledgements from the vendors.

• Data entry of new part registrations.

• Answers all vendor inquiries.

• Communicate via e-mail or phone with vendors to inquire about lead times of open orders.

• Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.

• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Understanding of database management and ERP systems

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Detail oriented, strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 2-4 years’ work experience in a similar capacity

• Associate degree in business or related field preferred

• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

• Microsoft AX Dynamics a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Job operates mainly indoors but exposed to generally consistent conditions, such as regulated air conditioning and heating. This job also works near a machinery showroom, which may generate some noises such as objects hitting the floor and

creating a sound, forklift movement and other occasional short term noises.
