About The Company:

Our client is a growing and established organization looking to add a detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to their team. This position supports daily purchasing operations by processing orders, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with vendors and internal departments to ensure materials are available when needed.

Job Description:

The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for supporting the procurement process by creating purchase orders, maintaining purchasing documentation, tracking inventory, and communicating with vendors. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process purchase orders for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment to maintain adequate stock.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, including pricing, vendor information, freight details, and order history.
  • Verify incoming shipments and reconcile deliveries with purchase orders.
  • Request pricing from vendors, compare quotes, and help identify cost-effective purchasing options.
  • Coordinate purchasing requests with internal departments and ensure appropriate approvals are received.
  • Assist with vendor communication, bid requests, and maintaining vendor documentation.
  • Provide updates regarding order status, shipping timelines, and inventory availability.
  • Generate reports and maintain files to support purchasing activities and budgeting.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform additional purchasing and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
