Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES for Inventory Control Specialist:

Receiving / Quality Control

  • Perform detailed visual inspections of incoming materials/products
  • Verify products meet quality standards and specifications (if needed for the item and called for - GD&T)
  • Document any defects or quality issues / check for shipping damage
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding quality concerns
  • Process return authorizations when needed
  • Maintain inspection records and reports (only if we start getting regular items, but this might not be needed)
  • Ensure proper documentation is included and verify quantities against purchase orders
  • Facilitate incoming package processes from inspection, order reconciliation, supplier remediation, and alerting recipients
  • Verify incoming items against purchase orders and close open orders in the main procurement system
  • Maintain inspection records

Inventory Management

  • Verify order accuracy before shipping
  • Package items according to specifications
  • Select appropriate shipping methods and carriers
  • Monitor stock levels and movement (if needed for maintaining stock - might be more of a facility thing)
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized inventory space
  • Monitor and define MRO inventory levels to ensure teams have material readily available
  • Generate reports on material use and material flow through the facility
  • Create SOPs, documentation, and organize materials to ensure proper inventory hygiene

Logistics Coordination

  • Oversee outbound logistics operations in coordination with organizational projects
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams over a wide variety of projects involving outbound and indirect shipments
  • Facilitate the packaging, validation, and shipment of outbound packages

Procurement

  • Assist in day-to-day purchasing for various facility teams
  • Track high-impact orders to ensure order discoverability
  • Onboard new suppliers as necessary

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • GDT&T- required 
  • Organization and time management
  • Computer proficiency
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Understanding of shipping/logistics processes
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Communication skills
  • Physical ability to lift and move materials
  • Forklift certification (or willing to get it)
  • Basic math skills

Salary Range: $95,000-$110,000/K
