About Pulse Heart Institute

MultiCare's Pulse Heart Institute is a physician led institute with multi-specialty partnership with Cardiothoracic surgery, vascular and cardiovascular service lines. Our team and state-of-the-art programs create a world-class health care organization and the destination center for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular care with complex structural heart disease and interventions, advanced heart failure service as well as advanced imaging with cutting edge technologies.


FTE: 1.0 Shift: Days, Schedule: Monday - Friday

Position Summary

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for expediting the administrative requirements of patient referrals between participating providers and patient health plans. The incumbent acts as a resource regarding referrals and insurance plan guidelines. This role requires the ability to interpret medical guidelines, benefits, policies and procedures in order to ensure the efficient operations of patient health care services.

Responsibilities

  • You will expedite administrative requirements and logistics
  • You will serve as a resource on referrals and insurance plan guidelines
  • You will apply discretion, good judgment, and professional communication to all work experiences
  • You will regularly utilize independent decision-making capacities and strong interpersonal skills

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Two (2) years experience working in a medical setting or insurance company
  • Experience in managed care desired
  • Experience with CPT and ICD-9 coding, preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $20.88 - $30.05 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
