Job description

The Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, NY, is seeking a clinically oriented, full-time academic BC/BE pediatric pulmonologist. This role involves supporting a robust consultative service in various inpatient settings and leading pulmonary support for the multidisciplinary NICU-based Chronic Lung Care Program. The successful candidate will join as the sixth member of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, with an anticipated academic rank of assistant professor.

Practice Info

  • Sixth member of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology
  • Robust consultative service in the hospital, PICU, PCICU, and NICU
  • Leading pulmonary support for the multidisciplinary NICU based Chronic Lung Care (CLC) Program
  • Work closely with a team of providers including a neonatologist and a nurse practitioner in a well-established BPD program
  • Expectations of weekly inpatient rounding, multi-disciplinary outpatient clinics, and active involvement in the institutions chapter of the BPD Collaborative

Responsibilities

  • Work in the inpatient setting supporting a robust consultative service in the hospital, PICU, PCICU, and NICU
  • Provide care for infants and children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia and other developmental lung disorders
  • Work with the technology dependent population
  • Perform general pulmonary inpatient and outpatient clinical work
  • Provide the leading pulmonary support for the multidisciplinary NICU based Chronic Lung Care (CLC) Program
  • Participate in weekly inpatient rounding
  • Conduct multi-disciplinary outpatient clinics
  • Actively involve in the institutions chapter of the BPD Collaborative

Compensation

  • Compensation range from $240,000 to $295,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited program
  • Successful completion of a 3-year Pediatric ACGME approved fellowship program
  • Eligible for New York State Medical License
  • BC/BE in Pediatric Pulmonology
  • Experience with flexible bronchoscopy
  • Meet eligibility requirements for an appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
  • Experience with ventilator management
  • Comfort with diagnosis and management of pulmonary vascular disease
  • Experience diagnosing and managing childhood diffuse and interstitial lung disease
  • Sleep medicine board certified/board eligible is valued
