Job Description:
Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an Associate Social Media Manager to temporarily support the Diablo IV Digital Marketing team in Irvine, CA. Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, this contractor will drive operational excellence across social marketing initiatives by managing content calendars, coordinating social asset production, tracking deliverables, and supporting project execution across multiple stakeholders.
Working closely with internal teams, agency partners, and regional stakeholders, the successful candidate will help ensure social campaigns are delivered efficiently, risks are identified early, and publishing plans remain on track. A passion for social media and an interest in gaming communities, particularly Diablo and Blizzard audiences, will help drive success in the role.
This role blends project management, creative operations, and social production support, requiring strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines. The contractor will also provide coverage during planned and unplanned absences within the Digital Marketing and Community teams, helping ensure continuity across social publishing, stakeholder communications, community-facing initiatives, and ongoing projects.
NOTE: This is a temporary assignment through June 30, 2027. The candidate will ideally be based in Irvine.
This is a contingent worker position and will be staffed through Volt, a staffing and workforce management company.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the planning, scheduling, publishing, and execution of Diablo social content across internal teams, agency partners, first-party partners, and regional stakeholders.
  • Maintain social content calendars, project documentation, and asset libraries while tracking milestones, dependencies, approvals, and potential risks to keep initiatives on schedule.
  • Manage the organization, versioning, delivery, and publishing of social and marketing assets, ensuring compliance with platform requirements, publishing standards, and best practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for social content scheduling and stakeholder alignment, facilitating communication, creative feedback, reviews, approvals, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Partner with marketing, creative, production, publishing, and regional teams to support asset development, production workflows, and timely content delivery.
  • Publish content natively to social platforms as needed and support operational processes that enable effective execution of Diablo's social media strategy and campaigns.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in social media and/or production within the gaming or entertainment industry.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, coordinating across departments and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with experience managing schedules, documentation, and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proven ability to work proactively and independently.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, publishing workflows, and content operations.
  • Comfortable using native social publishing tools and adapting to platform-specific posting workflows when agency support is limited.
  • Experience partnering with external agencies and cross-functional teams.

Bonus Points
  • Deep knowledge of the Diablo franchise, community, and audience.
  • Familiarity with Blizzard titles and gaming audiences.
  • Experience using Opal, SharePoint, Sprinklr, Airtable, Asana, Monday.com, or similar tools.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $63,360.00 - $117,200.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location.
