JOB DESCRIPTION:
The basic function of this position is janitorial services and miscellaneous jobs; perform general services work orders, move and deliver supplies, such as toilet paper, cups, plates, etc., and assist with event set up and take down.  The General Services Aide will maintain the overall cleanliness of all facilities at Winterthur.  This position assists in ensuring guest and staff satisfaction is achieved by maintaining the cleanliness of the facilities
Compensation: $17.00/hour
Benefits:  Including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision insurance; generous paid time off plan including 10 holidays, vacation, personal, and sick time; 403b with employer match for eligible employees; discounts in the museum store and cafe; free general admission for you and your immediate family
Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday with rotating weekends, 40 hours/week
Responsibilities:
1. Janitorial Services - maintain general indoor appearance of the building, collect trash from offices, restrooms and lobbies, vacuum and perform carpet cleaning services, mop floors (restrooms, stairwells, lobbies), dusting and wiping furniture and vents, operate a vacuum, shampooer, and buffer, mix and use cleaning solutions safely and store them in a secure area
2. Ensuring disinfection and sanitization of employee work spaces and customer facing public areas in order to comply with guidelines regarding preventing the spread of infectious diseases, such as Influenza and Covid-19. Guidelines and specifics may change in compliance with OSHA, CDC, and state requirements.
3. Perform duties as assigned in the Work orders, such as setting up conference room for training
4. Responsible for Event Set Up and Take Down, such as setting up tables and small trash receptacles for events
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Experience: 2 year janitorial experience with a HS diploma/GED or equivalent years of experience
Preferred Experience: Experience in the Hospitality or Cultural Institution industries
Knowledge/Skills:
  1.  Knowledge of housekeeping operational procedures
  2.  Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements/controls and applications of relevant cleaning chemicals.
  3. Basic knowledge of hand tools
  4. Basic knowledge of carpet cleaning procedures.
  5. Ability to assess a situation and take initiative to proactively resolve and prevent issues
Essential Functions:
  1. Duties will involve bending, stretching, reaching and moving at a fast pace.
  2. Able to lift 50 lb.
  3. Able to climb up to 9 flights of stairs
  4. Able to walk and stand for extended period of time; 8 hours or more
