Job description

PUBLIC HEALTH GENERALIST I Under general or close supervision, perform one or more of the duties of this classification and related work as required: a. Independently perform work tasks, apply standard office procedures, and ensure accuracy and completeness while potentially performing various administrative services. Support program objectives or support professional human services staff. b. Connect clients from diverse communities to community resources such as food, transportation, and healthcare through education and coaching. Provide support across different settings while collaborating with various groups to mitigate barriers associated with Social Determinants of Health (SDOH). c. Conduct sub-professional chemical and biochemical tests and physical tests on public pool facilities, bodies of water, sediments, air emissions, and hazardous waste; ensures that all tests conform to standard methods; helps maintain the laboratory and laboratory equipment in a clean and efficient order. d. Performs paraprofessional human services work in support of program objectives or supports professional human services staff. e. Handle routine purchases from established vendors; monitor day-to-day operation of a parts storeroom; establishes working relationships with suppliers to facilitate obtaining parts and supplies for operational needs; inspects receipts and enters them into an inventory management system; conducts physical inventories and reconciles and reports differences
