Search & Comparison IntentPublic Adjusters vs Insurance Claims Adjusters

Public Adjusters and Insurance Claims Adjusters both handle insurance claims but serve different clients. Public Adjusters advocate for policyholders, helping them navigate claims and maximize settlements. Insurance Claims Adjusters work for insurance companies, assessing damages and determining claim payouts. Understanding these differences helps clients choose the right professional for their needs.

Do public adjusters make a lot of money?

Public adjusters can earn a substantial income, often based on a percentage of the claims they settle, typically ranging from 5% to 15%. Their earnings depend on factors such as experience, the volume of claims handled, and the complexity of cases, with successful adjusters potentially making six-figure incomes annually.

Is hiring a public adjuster a good idea?

Hiring a public adjuster can be beneficial for policyholders seeking to navigate complex insurance claims, as they advocate for the insured's interests and help maximize claim settlements. They typically have knowledge of insurance policies, claims processes, and may hold relevant certifications. However, it is important to consider their fees and ensure they are licensed in your jurisdiction.

What does it take to be a public adjuster?

To become a public adjuster, individuals typically need to complete pre-licensing education, pass a state licensing exam, and obtain a license to practice in their jurisdiction. Strong communication, negotiation skills, and knowledge of insurance policies are essential, and some states require ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure.
