Summary
Keep our fleet running at peak performance and help power the success of our transportation operations. As a Fleet Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our equipment, with responsibilities tailored to your experience and technical expertise. From performing preventative maintenance and essential repairs to diagnosing complex issues, completing major system overhauls, and providing technical guidance within the shop, you will contribute directly to safety, reliability, and efficiency across our fleet. This role is ideal for a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in quality work, values continuous learning, and is ready to grow their skills in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and service vehicle systems including brakes, air systems, electrical, hydraulics, and driveline components.
  • Utilize shop computer systems and OEM diagnostic software (e.g., Mack, Volvo, International) to identify equipment failures and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • (Senior Level) Proficiently service engine emission systems, internal engine components, HVAC, and perform welding or fabrication.
  • Accurately complete work orders and evaluate repairs prior to releasing vehicles to service to ensure compliance with DOT and company standards.
  • Respond to road calls and perform emergency repairs as necessary.
  • Senior technicians will mentor and guide Level I and II technicians, supporting repair strategy decisions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow all OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety regulations.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Minimum 1-year mechanical repair or training.
  • Mechanical repair experience for Intermediate Level: Minimum 3 years direct fleet/heavy equipment experience

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Technical school education or enrollment.
  • CDL Class A.
  • ASE and/or OEM certifications.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
  • Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, lifting light and heavy objects.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs.
  • Required to sit, stand, walk use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, hear, to reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and smell.
  • Must be able to lay on back on a mechanic's dolly to work underneath motor vehicle equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Associates must be free of any conditions which result in temporary loss of consciousness or ability to reason.
  • Work is performed with exposure to noise, chemicals, noxious odors gases, poor ventilation, inclement weather, dirt, grease, dust and machinery with moving parts requiring use of protective devices.
