Job description

Discover Your Career at Emory University
Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.
Description
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time psychologist to join its outpatient faculty, open academic rank. The ideal candidate has experience working with patients across the lifespan, especially with adolescents and families struggling with addiction-related concerns. Applications will be reviewed beginning immediately and will be accepted and reviewed until the position is filled. As part of the growing Addiction Services/Addiction Alliance of Georgia at Emory Healthcare, this position will offer the opportunity to participate in clinical care, education, and research.
Primary roles include (1) provision of patient care to adolescents and families, (2) supervision and teaching within the addiction psychiatry fellowship and psychology training programs, (3) participation in research or quality improvement, and (4) engagement in team-based care. Clinical care will involve brief assessments and psychotherapy (individual, family, group) for minors with substance use disorders and other co-occurring mental health conditions and their families. This position is based at the Emory Addiction Center at Wesley Woods Hospital.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Applicants must have a doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited graduate program, an APA accredited internship, and at least one-year supervised postdoctoral training.
  • They must be licensed or license eligible in Georgia.
  • The successful candidate will have established areas of emphasis in treatment of substance use disorders in minors, as well as distinct areas of focus that would provide needed clinical services (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based interventions).
  • Applicants must have a strong background in patient care, supervision and teaching, research or quality improvement, and team-based care.
  • Applicants with leadership competencies also are encouraged to apply.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
