Job description

Job Description
The Clinical Psychologist functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the hospital and clinic setting.
Responsibilities
Conducts individual, group and family sessions as indicated.
Performs psychological testing in a timely manner and oversees the administration, scoring, interpretation and documentation of psychological testing as ordered by the physician.
Performs consultation and liaison mental health consults as needed.
Conducts Mental Health Assessments by collecting pertinent data, conducting mental status exam, determining provisional diagnosis, identifies problems/needs, collaborating with other treating professionals, developing a plan of action using specialty charting, recommending disposition, documenting pertinent data.
Responsible for quality assurance and volume indicators.
Participates in division specific treatment planning sessions
Completes division specific and age-Specific Competencies.
Assesses patients who use substances.
Intervenes with patients who use substances by using appropriate therapeutic confrontation and reality testing, educating patients/families about potential consequences and alternatives and discussing -step program.
Informs Director/Coordinator of system problems and problem cases.
May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time.
Qualifications
Required Education: Ph.D. or Psy.D.
Required Certification & Licensures: Current licensure by the Virginia Board of Psychology
