Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 13-week contract assignment in Macon, Georgia.   • Taxable Rate: $20/hour
  • Housing Stipend: $600/week
  • Meals & Incidentals Stipend: $400/week

Travel stipends are available to candidates who qualify under IRS guidelines.

The Psychiatric/Mental Health Registered Nurse (PMH RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing mental health and behavioral health crises. This role requires strong clinical judgment, crisis intervention skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting psychiatric and nursing assessments
  • Monitoring patient status and treatment response
  • Implementing individualized care plans
  • Managing crisis situations and behavioral escalations
  • Providing patient and family education
  • Collaborating with physicians, therapists, and clinical staff
  • Promoting patient safety and therapeutic outcomes

This assignment involves caring for patients experiencing severe behavioral health crises within River Edge's crisis services programs. Nurses should be comfortable managing high-acuity behavioral health situations, including:

  • Verbal aggression
  • Physical aggression toward staff or residents
  • Self-injurious behaviors
  • Property destruction
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation

Candidates will be selected based on their experience handling severe behavioral health crisis behaviors.

? Minimum Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of practice
  • Current BLS/CPR Certification
  • Current TB Questionnaire, PPD, or Chest X-Ray (if applicable)
  • Current Health Certificate (per contract or state requirements)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Psychiatric or Behavioral Health Nursing experience strongly preferred
