Job description

Description

The Opportunity: Step Into the Limelight

Vicente LLP is the leading voice in cannabis and psychedelic law and policy. We don't just advise clients on navigating existing frameworks; we help build and shape them. With certain psychedelic medicines expected to receive FDA approval in the next 6-12 months and a growing number of state programs creating new legal terrain, we are seeking a visionary, top-tier healthcare attorney to lead our Psychedelic Medicine Healthcare Practice.

This is a role for an attorney who wants to be at the forefront of one of the most consequential shifts in healthcare law in a generation, someone who will guide a talented, driven team and become a defining voice in psychedelic medicine law nationwide.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial self-starter with the expertise to lead a rapidly growing practice: someone who commands a room, excels at public speaking, operates with integrity, and is ready to build a national profile at the cutting edge of life sciences and regulatory law.

Requirements

What You'll Do

  • Be a Trusted Advisor: Serve as a strategic partner to healthcare, life sciences, and FDA-regulated clients, guiding them through complex regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters.
  • Navigate the Frontier: Advise clients on intricate FDA issues (including the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, medical devices, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, and emerging therapies) as well as federal and state healthcare regulations (such as HIPAA, Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, licensing, reimbursement, and compliance program development).
  • Be the Face of the Practice: Step into the limelight. Monitor and interpret evolving regulatory and policy developments affecting healthcare and FDA-regulated industries, and act as a prominent public speaker and nationally recognized authority on psychedelic medicine law.
  • Originate & Expand: Maintain and grow your existing book of business while actively identifying new client and cross-practice opportunities. You will collaborate closely across firm practice groups to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary legal solutions.
  • Defend & Represent: Advocate for clients and represent their interests in administrative, regulatory, and enforcement proceedings before federal and state agencies.
  • Lead & Mentor: Contribute to firm leadership, mentorship, and strategic firm-building initiatives consistent with a high-impact, partner-level role.

Who You Are & Qualifications

  • An Ambitious Self-Starter: You don't wait for a roadmap-you draw it. You are assertive, entrepreneurial, collaborative, and driven to build something historic within a growing national firm.
  • Quick-Witted & Adaptable: The legal landscape for psychedelic medicine moves fast. You possess the sharp intellectual agility needed to untangle highly complex, novel legal issues on the fly.
  • Limelight-Ready: You love the stage. You are a natural advocate who commands a room, possessing exceptional legal writing, communication, and client counseling skills.
  • Proven Producer: You have a demonstrated ability to originate, manage, and sustain business, bringing a portable book of business of $400,000.00 to $800,000.00 annually.
  • Values-Driven: A profound commitment to client service, personal development, unwavering integrity, and a desire to contribute positively to a diverse and inclusive firm culture.

Deep Legal & Regulatory Expertise:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (CO, MA, NY, FL, TX, DC, or CA).
  • Significant experience practicing healthcare and/or FDA law in a law firm, government, or in-house setting.
  • Deep working knowledge of federal healthcare regulations and FDA frameworks.

Why Vicente LLP?

We offer the platform, the brand equity, and the ultimate launching pad for your career to reach global recognition. If you have the drive, the legal excellence, and the grit to lead the next frontier of medicine, we want to hear from you.
