Position Summary:
The Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, is seeking a candidate for a Faculty Appointment as a Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Clinical Psychologist. This position is being recruited at both the Associate Professor and the Assistant Professor levels.
The Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (TACS) has an immediate opening for a Licensed Psychologist with at least three years of experience supervising the clinical care of trainees and/or other mental health professionals while being licensed. This is a unique position; the TACS Psychology program recently received a grant from the National Alliance for Trauma Recovery Centers to start Milwaukee's first Trauma Recovery Center (MKE TRC). 50% of this position will be in the MKE TRC supervising master's level clinicians in providing evidence based culturally responsive mental health care for survivors of violence. The MKE TRC psychologist will also have a small caseload in the TRC, and work with the TRC Director to establish the workflow of the clinic. The other half of this position will be focused on the work within the posttrauma mental health care program within TACS, where care is provided at Froedtert Hospital, an Adult Level 1 Trauma Center. The psychologists in TACS provide biopsychosocial assessment and treatment services for patients with traumatic injuries who are admitted to the trauma service or to the acute care surgery service. Services are provided both inpatient and within and outpatient trauma psychology clinic. Furthermore, the TACS psychology team is a part of an innovative multidisciplinary team that provides post-discharge care to firearm injured patients.
This faculty member will join a dynamic division who will be engaged in training, research, and clinical innovation. There is a strong trauma psychology research program within the division and there will be multiple opportunities for the applicant to collaborate on research as a part of the Milwaukee Trauma Outcomes Project. While 50% of this faculty member's time will be focused on the TRC, the time allocation of the other 50% can be discussed to create an position that is both fulfilling and complimentary to the other team members.

Qualifications:

• Candidates must have a PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology.
• Due to the nature of the position and the expectation of supervision within the MKE TRC, the candidate must demonstrate at least 3 years of experience supervising while licensed as a psychologist.
• Candidates must have experience in evidence-based care for trauma related disorders and distress, including prolonged exposure therapy, cognitive processing therapy, etc.
• Due to long standing factors in Milwaukee, such a structural racism and discriminatory lending practices, there is non-random clustering of violence in communities where non-White residents live. Therefore, the majority of violence survivors in Milwaukee are non-White. This psychologist must have experience providing culturally responsive care and being able to supervise the integration of this care into the TRC.
• Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in Wisconsin.
