Job description

PBIS Building Team Member: 2% stipend


PBIS Building Team Members support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework. Working collaboratively with colleagues, they promote a positive school climate, use data to inform behavioral practices, and help build staff capacity to support student behavior in proactive and equitable ways.

Reports to: Building Principal and District PBIS Coordinator or his/her designee

ย  Job Responsibilities:ย 
  1. Attend regular PBIS team meetings and actively participate in planning and decision-making.

  2. Assist in defining, teaching, and reinforcing school-wide behavioral expectations.

  3. Help develop and implement Tier 1 universal supports and acknowledgment systems.

  4. Contribute to the collection and analysis of school behavior data to identify trends and needs.

  5. Support the creation and delivery of PBIS-related communications, trainings, and materials for staff, students, and families.

  6. Model PBIS practices and serve as a peer resource or coach to other staff members.

  7. Support Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions as appropriate, in collaboration with counselors or specialists.

  8. Participate in fidelity checks using tools such as the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI).

  9. Promote equity and inclusiveness in all PBIS strategies and activities.

  10. Advocate for student voice and help integrate student perspectives into PBIS practices.

  11. ย Collaborate and assist with the completion and submission of the Building PBIS recognition application.ย 

  12. Fulfill the Team member roles and responsibilities of the committee assignment monthly as outlined in the PBIS Handbooks.

  13. Additional responsibilities as needed to meet student needs / PBIS goals.ย

ย  Qualifications:ย 
  • Current school staff member (teacher, counselor, administrator, paraprofessional, or support staff).

  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting a positive school climate and student success.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.

  • Familiarity with school-wide expectations and basic behavioral support strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Basic understanding of the PBIS framework and goals.

  • Experience with behavior data or progress monitoring systems (e.g., PSW, PBIS Rewards, SWIS, referral data).

  • Attend team meetings (minimally, twice monthly).

  • Participate in PBIS-related events, training, and implementation activities as scheduled.

  • Contribute to data reviews and planning monthly.

  • Must be assigned and working in the building of the team.

  • Meetings or training sessions may be outside of the working day or included in summer planning.
