Job description

  • Perform random daily audits on Patient Services Representative’s (PSR) work to verify accuracy.

  • Assist all PSR’s in balancing their Comprehensive Balancing sheets as needed.

  • Assist all PSR’s in finding office codes, CPT, ICD-10 or charges not listed on the router.

  • Assist in updating clinical forms.

  • Perform all duties as described in the PSR job description during peak periods or absentees.

  • Communicate any up-coming changes to satellite offices.

  • Type memos for PSRs

  • Communicate with physicians, clinical personnel or other supervisors in dealing with specific patient problems/issues or departmental personnel.

  • Work closely with the Appointment, Patient Accounting, Electronic Billing, Quality Control, Cash Posting and Coding personnel to ensure the smooth flow of work between the various areas.

  • Plan, develop, maintain and continually strive to improve methods, procedures, controls and co-ordination of unit functions.

  • Maintain information and keep abreast of information relating to the insurance industry and Privia Medical Group - Gulf Coast reimbursement.

  • Draft new or revised policies and procedures as necessary.

  • Monitor department resources, including staffing levels, for efficient usage. Plan for the use of resources and people needed for future tasks and growth.

  • Follow-up on special requests or projects for completeness.

  • Initiates service requests for system problems. Follow through to ensure problems are corrected. Provide guidance in Athena EMR. Evaluate computer and equipment needs for PSR personnel.

  • Interview, hire and terminate employees after consulting with the Practice Manager.

  • Listen to ideas and suggestions from employees, physicians or other staff for improving the overall performance of the department and/or staff.

  • Set and monitor performance goals/standards and communicate them to department personnel. Monitor adherence to set goals/standards. Complete and review employee’s annual performance evaluations in accordance with these goals/standards.

  • Provide appropriate guidance, coaching and leadership for PSR personnel.

  • Maintain a competent staff through training programs to ensure job knowledge and career progression.

  • Evaluate and update job description to reflect accurate job content.

  • Assign and issue instructions for specific or special tasks to personnel as needed.

  • Review the payroll time clock edits for department personnel.

  • Participate in educational and developmental activities.

  • Attend meetings as requested.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Physician Owner(s) or Practice Manager.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in medical office environment

  • At least 3 Years of experience utilizing CPT and ICD-9 coding standards

  • At least 3 Years of experience with Athena EMR.

  • High School Graduate or GED, some college preferred.

Physical Demands

Requires sitting for long periods of time, working in an office environment with some bending and stretching; ability to work under stress in a fast paced environment required; may need to stay later in the evenings to cover/supervise staff; manual dexterity required for use of calculator and computer.

Compensation range for this vacancy is based on years of experience, education and location.

Hourly range for this vacancy is $19 to $21 per hour.
