Job description


POSITION OVERVIEW:

The New Jersey Devils are looking for fun, enthusiastic individuals who are motivated to engage and energize Devils fans at all home games and experiential events. The Devils Woo Crew is an integral part of the Devils fan experience, responsible for strengthening the relationship between fans and the brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW:

  • Work closely with Senior Manager, Live Experience to ensure fans have the best experience at all Devils games & events
  • Responsible for building the energy at Prudential Center, both on camera and in front of fans.
  • Assist with both Devils & NJ Devil's in-season events as another source of entertainment
  • Help elevate theme nights through special costumes, events, prizing, hype moments, performances, etc.
  • Assist with the execution of in-game fan experiences by hyping up contestants on-camera during contests & promotions
  • Coordinate, assist, and elevate concourse activations throughout the course of the season
  • Assist with execution of various brand activations and programs
  • Help enhance summer events & activations (ie. Draft Party, Festivals, Parades, etc.)
  • Serve as extras for video shoots and other Devils content throughout the season.
  • Occasional participation in appearances with NJ Devil & Alumni Characters

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Members of this team must have: an outgoing personality; over the top energy; dance skills; a loud voice; a positive attitude; strong teamwork skills; professionalism; poise; strong communication skills; a strong work ethic; reliability; approachability; and comfort taking part in interactive contests and showcasing his or her individual personality and enthusiasm in front of thousands of Devils fans.
  • Dance skills are preferred
  • This position MUST be able to make at least 75% of all Devils home games throughout the season (33 games)
  • This position MUST be able to report to Prudential Center (2) hours prior to puck drop.
  • This position MUST have prior on-camera entertainment experience and/or experience on a sports hype team.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for 5-6 hours a day.
  • Work Environment: This position generally requires that work primarily be performed from the Prudential Center and its offices, but attendance at events taking place in the arena or offsite, including on weekends and/or holidays, may be required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The pay for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $20/hour. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

This position will be an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
