Family Medicine Physician (Locum Tenens)

Mobile, Alabama (With Regional Outpatient Clinic Coverage)

Outpatient Primary Care Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Zero Call Duties

Are you a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine Physician seeking an impactful outpatient locum tenens opportunity in southern Alabama? Franklin Primary Health Center is seeking a dedicated primary care physician to provide comprehensive care across its health center network (including locations in Foley and Frisco City). Offering a predictable outpatient schedule, a manageable daily patient volume, zero call responsibilities, and integrated OCHIN Epic EMR, this assignment provides an excellent opportunity to serve diverse patient communities.

The Opportunity

Step into an established FQHC practice environment, delivering full-scope outpatient care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations.

  • Clinical Scope: Deliver primary care and preventive medicine services, including:

    • Diagnosing and managing acute illnesses and complex chronic medical conditions

    • Performing routine wellness examinations, preventive screenings, and patient counseling

    • Executing standard outpatient order entry, diagnostic interpretations, and specialist referrals

    • Conducting clinical documentation via OCHIN Epic EMR

  • Procedural Capabilities: Comfort performing routine office-based procedures, including:

    • Skin biopsies, cryotherapy, and wart removal

    • Incision and drainage, abscess management, and laceration repairs

    • Joint injections and minor office procedures

  • The Schedule & Practice Setting: Full outpatient primary care workflow across assigned network clinics (Foley and Frisco City, AL).

    • Daily Volume: Manageable pace averaging 18 to 20 patients per day.

    • Call & Weekends: Zero call duties.

Candidate Requirements
  • Degree & Board Status: MD or DO; Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Family Medicine.

  • Licensure & Registrations: Active, unencumbered Alabama State Medical License and active DEA registration.

  • Life Support: Active BLS certification.

  • Clinical Scope: Verified experience treating full-spectrum pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.

  • EHR Experience: EMR proficiency required; prior OCHIN Epic experience preferred.
