Waymo's Product Data Science team works cross-functionally with Engineering, Product and Operations to help the company make the most informed decisions using data. Our team collaborates on high-impact projects across the company - from driving quality and operational efficiency to market analysis and rider satisfaction scores - we help to safely and efficiently scale the Waymo Driver. We are data-driven, curious, open-minded, and adapt quickly to new information.
In this hybrid role, you will report to the Product Data Science Lead, Supply Operations.
You will:
  • Define, build, and maintain KPIs and metrics to measure operational safety and quality across our Operations Center
  • Architect and scale data infrastructure to support automated reporting for Road Rule Events, improving operational transparency and safety insights
  • Quantify our operational capacity to handle events, providing actionable data to scale team performance and optimize response protocols
  • Analyze agent response precision to identify performance patterns, optimize workflows, and provide input for AI model training
  • Partner cross-functionally to translate business challenges into robust data pipelines and reporting solutions that drive operational resilience

You have:
  • 8+ years of experience in a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience), with a proven track record of architecting and scaling projects
  • Excellent communication and Stakeholder & Management skills: You can communicate clearly complex topic in an easy to understand way to stakeholders at all levels of the company
  • Extensive experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Action Oriented Analytical mindset - you not only build the report, you look at your data and make actionable recommendations from it

We prefer:
  • Experience in the Autonomous Vehicle industry or a strong background in engineering or physics
  • Experience working with Operations

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process.
Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo's discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
Salary Range
$200,000-$247,000 USD
