Job Description

Hours: 1st shift: Monday-Thursday, 5:30 am - 4 pm 2nd shift: Monday-Thursday, 4:30 pm - 3:00 am 3rd shift: Friday-Sunday 6:00 am - 6:30 pm

The Material Handlers are an essential part of our team. The main duties will revolve around the unloading of incoming product, picking of orders for specific customer requirements, and loading product for shipment to customers. The position will also include cycle counting and variance reporting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Safe Operation of material handling equipment including stand up forklifts, pallet jacks and high reach trucks.
  • Operating and maintaining RF Scanner (handheld warehouse computer).
  • Accurate and timely selecting of customers' orders
  • Working on both the Receiving and Shipping docks as needed.
  • Unload trucks and validate deliveries against appropriate documentation, notifying the supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper storing and use.
  • Distribute the items received to the person or department for which the item was ordered.
  • Daily shipments must be picked, counts verified, pallets wrapped or stacked neatly for pick-ups, marked accordingly to customer, transportation and location of shipment.
  • Load finished goods onto trailer within specified timeframe.
  • Perform and report cycle counts.
  • Follow daily operations schedule and achieve specified goals.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
  • Following set company and OSHA safety rules, regulations, and guidelines at all times.
Qualifications

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED, preferred.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 3 months experience with operating material handling equipment.
  • Experience working in a warehouse or distribution setting.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES:

  • Excellent attendance and dependability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, write and follow instructions while working independently. Guidance provided when needed.
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
Additional Information

The hiring range for this role is $16.96 - $21.20 an hour. Actual wages will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link's Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards. Jack Link's provides a variety of benefits to eligible Team Members, including medical, dental and vision benefits, life and disability insurance, 401k participation, paid holidays, and paid time off.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors. Travel may be required.
