Position Summary:
STARPLUS ENERGY LLC is seeking a knowledgeable, dynamic and detail-oriented Environmental Specialist to join our Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Team. As a key member of our EHS team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the permitting, environmental compliance, and environmental impact reduction. The ideal candidate will possess audit skills, organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for contributing to sustainable business practices. This position reports to the Environmental Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Lead and optimize environmental management systems, including standards and procedures, within the assigned area.
  • Collaborate with facilities to integrate corporate sustainability initiatives into site programs and compliance processes.
  • Work with project teams to promote sustainability, climate change initiatives, environmental justice, and circular economy practices.
  • Manage regulatory compliance, providing data for permit applications for new and modified equipment.
  • Develop and deliver environmental training and ongoing coaching to facility personnel.
  • Prepare compliance reports and respond to regulatory inquiries, while collaborating with experts to assess the impact of proposed regulations and advocate for environmentally protective measures.
  • Perform other position related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Basic:
  • Minimum Age: 18 Years old
  • 2 years' experience as an Environmental Specialist in a manufacturing field
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related Scientific field
  • A combination of education and industry experience will be considered in the event no degree is obtained
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required

Preferred:
  • Masters' Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent
  • Professional certification as a CHMM, or equivalent

Working Conditions:
  • Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work around the potential exposure to dust and chemicals
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE as deemed essential for the job function
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
