Job Description

Chairside Support: Provide effective four-handed dentistry assistance to the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry and specialized prosthodontics.
Sterilization & Safety: Prepare, sterilize, and manage instruments and materials according to infection control protocols aligned with OSHA guidelines and aseptic techniques.
Imaging: Safely take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) and assist with other medical imaging procedures; experience with advanced tools like 3D scanners is essential for prosthodontic work.
Documentation: Accurately operate Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic) to document patient information, treatment plans, and medical records while strictly adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Patient Flow: Manage patient flow, monitor vital signs, assist with scheduling appointments, confirming information, and answering inquiries professionally.
Equipment Management: Ensure all dental equipment (handpieces, X-ray units, etc.) is functioning properly and perform routine maintenance checks.
Administrative: Support the dental team with medical coding for insurance claims and accurate documentation of procedures performed.

Salary Range

Full-time $20 - $25 per hour

Monday – Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Requirements

Documentation: Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for efficient record management.
Radiography: Experience with dental radiography (X-ray) techniques and safety protocols.
Assisting Skills: Excellent chairside assisting skills using four-handed dentistry methods.
Knowledge Base: Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
Compliance: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
Equipment: Ability to operate dental equipment, including X-ray machines and digital imaging tools.
Experience: Prior experience in a general dentistry clinic demonstrates adaptability across various procedures.

Preferences

Specialty Focus: Familiarity with prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry.
Technology: Experience with 3D scanners or advanced digital imaging tools.
Administration: Experience with medical coding to enhance billing processes.
