Job description

Orthotic & Prosthetic Technician


Location: Amherst, OH (Primary) + Toledo, OH (Satellite)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Wed until 5-6 PM)


Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Orthotic & Prosthetic Fabrication Technician to support the production of custom prosthetic and orthotic devices. This role works closely with clinicians to fabricate, modify, and repair patient-specific devices, ensuring high-quality outcomes and timely delivery.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Fabricate, modify, finish, and repair prosthetic and orthotic devices

  • Perform laminations, vacuum forming, trimming, alignment, and finishing

  • Interpret clinician work orders, casts, measurements, and digital scans

  • Conduct bench alignments and quality checks prior to fittings

  • Maintain shop safety standards, equipment, and clean work environment

  • Track materials, components, and assist with inventory management

  • Document builds, repairs, and materials for traceability and billing

  • Support quick turnaround times while maintaining quality standards

  • Assist with minor patient-side adjustments under clinician supervision


Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of orthotic/prosthetic lab or related fabrication experience preferred

  • Strong hands-on skills with laminations, plastics, metals, foam, and tools

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Team-oriented with strong attention to detail

  • Experience with CAD/CAM, 3D printing, or digital scanning (preferred)

  • ABC Technician certification (preferred)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
