Job description


Job Purpose:
The Asset Technician is responsible for the physical preparation, inspection, and documentationof equipment for mobilization and demobilization. This role supports the company's internalasset management program by ensuring that all field assets are fully compliant, maintained, andcertified before being issued to a project. The Asset Technician performs routine technicalmaintenance, executes preventative maintenance and inspection procedures, and maintains theintegrity of the equipment's certification status within the company's digital asset trackingsystem.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute physical mobilization and demobilization of assets, ensuring all equipment isstaged, inspected, and verified against project requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and testing tasks to ensure equipment remains inoperational condition, including execution of standardized preventative maintenance,inspection, and testing.
  • Verify that all asset certifications are current and upload supporting documentation to themaster asset record in the company's ERP/asset tracking system.
  • Promote safety awareness and comply with all applicable safety procedures andregulations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of safety standards and be familiar with company HSEpolicies and procedures.
  • Perform visual inspections and basic troubleshooting of electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Load, unload, and stage items delivered to and shipped from the facility, ensuringadherence to established asset milestone programs.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory counts and ensuring records are updated inreal-time.
  • Perform quality control checks on incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying thephysical condition of equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring tools and equipment areproperly stored.
  • Collaborate with the Lead and Asset Coordinator to ensure project timelines are metregarding asset readiness.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED and at least 2-3 years of work experience in an oil & gas,manufacturing, or industrial workshop environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude; ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and parts lists.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow structured, formal maintenance procedures and qualitystandards. Basic computer proficiency for accessing procedures, documenting work, and updatingasset records in an ERP system.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and other industrial warehouse equipment safely andefficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently within a teamenvironment.
  • Previous experience working in an industrial shop, warehouse, or field serviceenvironment.
  • Mechanical and Hydraulic knowledge required to test and maintain subsea assets.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks in various workingconditions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
