Join the Team at Bear Village!
Maintenance Technician
Location: Springfield, MO
Pay: $20-$22/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM with an On-Call Rotation
Do you enjoy working outdoors, fixing problems, and taking pride in a job well done? Bear Village is looking for a dependable Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. If you're someone who likes variety in your workday and enjoys seeing the results of your hard work, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Be Doing
As part of our maintenance team, you'll assist with the daily operation and upkeep of the property by:
  • Responding promptly to resident maintenance requests (our goal is within 4 hours)
  • Performing repairs including HVAC, plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, appliance repair, minor electrical, and general maintenance
  • Assisting with preventative maintenance to keep our buildings and equipment operating efficiently
  • Preparing apartments for new residents, including move-in and move-out maintenance
  • Maintaining the property's appearance through lawn care, landscaping, weed control, trimming, trash pickup, and general grounds maintenance
  • Keeping breezeways, sidewalks, parking lots, and common areas clean and inviting
  • Working alongside the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize projects and complete larger repairs
  • Coordinating with vendors and contractors when needed and ensuring work is completed to company standards
  • Following OSHA, EPA, and company safety procedures at all times
What We're Looking For
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one year of maintenance or grounds keeping experience
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent customer service skills
A Typical Day
Every day starts with a quick meeting with the Maintenance Supervisor to review priorities and work orders. From there, you'll tackle everything from resident service requests and apartment turns to mowing, landscaping, exterior clean-up, and preventative maintenance. Whether you're repairing an air conditioner, replacing a faucet, trimming shrubs, or helping prepare an apartment for its next resident, you'll play an important role in keeping Bear Village looking its best. No two days are exactly alike, and that's part of what makes the job rewarding.
