Job Summary
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans to promote Property Disposition and Print Copy Mail Services
  • Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video, written) across various social media platforms including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Analyze and report on campaign performance; use insights to optimize and improve marketing strategies
  • Monitor social media trends, tools, and applications, and appropriately apply that knowledge to increase the use of social media
  • Collaborate with internal teams across both departments to ensure aligned communication and consistent messaging
  • Engage with the community and stakeholders through social media channels, responding to inquiries, and fostering positive relationships
  • Design marketing collateral such as flyers, brochures, email newsletters, and other promotional materials
  • Coordinate special events and promotions specific to both departments
  • Perform market research to identify new opportunities and competitive market positioning
  • Track and manage marketing budgets, ensuring cost effectiveness in all initiatives

Job Summary
The University of Michigan is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing and Social Media Specialist to join our Property Disposition and Print Copy Mail Services departments. This unique position will play a key role in developing and implementing marketing strategies and social media campaigns to increase visibility, engagement, and utilization of our services.
Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing and social media management
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and social media platforms
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to create engaging content tailored to diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proactive, creative, and team-oriented with a passion for innovative marketing solutions

Desired Qualifications*
  • Experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and video editing software
  • Knowledge of higher education environment and the services provided by Property Disposition and Print Copy Mail Services
  • Familiarity with SEO strategies and social media growth
  • Familiarity with data and reporting tools
