Job description

Scope:
Palmetto Propane is a leading provider of propane and fuel services across South Carolina. We are committed to delivering safe, reliable energy solutions to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers. Sales Representatives responsibilities include presenting our products and services to potential clients, identifying and targeting specific customers, and recommending strategies through a variety of trade organizations to promote and sell our products and services. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication abilities, be highly organized, and a self-starter who is motivated to meet the established sales goals.
Ultimately, you are responsible for executing the sales plan by growing our company's market share through customer acquisitions and gallon growth in the assigned territory. The assigned territory will be from the Midlands to the Upstate of South Carolina, including Batesburg, Laurens, Clinton, Newberry, Greenwood, Abbeville, and Edgefield.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Act as a point of contact for existing and potential customers within assigned territory
  • Identify sales opportunities through residential, commercial, and industrial business channels.
  • Report on regional sales results (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually)
  • Present our products and services to prospective customers.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend product solutions.
  • Work and communicate with others across multiple divisions.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives from different territories to share best practices and support a cohesive sale approach.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding goals and representing the company at professional and trade association meetings.
  • Outside sales experience in the propane industry is preferred.
  • Must have strong sales skills such as presentation and negotiation skills, necessary to attain sales goals and objectives.
  • Must have strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Needs to have complete understanding of the demographics, economics, and growth opportunities with their assigned sales territory and can work independently and as a team.
