Propane Service Technician with CDL - Odessa, TX

Summary:
Propane Service Technician installs, maintains, and services all customer and company propane installations/equipment, while building relationships, in local community, focusing on safety and service. The technician drives a service truck with a crane and boom attached to deliver, install, and remove tanks of various sizes at customer locations. The technician completes field repairs of tank valves and repairs leaks at customer sites.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Build relationships, within community, as the premier provider of safe propane service.
  • Coordinate with Pilot Thomas Logistics (PTL) Sales Representatives to build business.
  • Safely operate propane bobtail, service truck, and crane.
  • Install and maintain propane vapor/liquid service in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 58, state, and local propane gas codes.
  • Respond to out of gas and leak calls in accordance with National Propane Gas Association (NPGA), Certified Employee Training Program (CETP), Company, and local procedures.
  • Participate in local NPGA training events to ensure culture of safety, compliance, and service.

Minimum Requirements
  • Class A/B CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
  • Ability to drive a company truck.
  • One year documented experience installing and maintaining propane liquid and vapor systems.
  • Review of current of a 1 and/or 2-year medical card and physical long forms. Willing to accept a document administered within the last 6 months from date of apply.
  • One year full time verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
  • Ability to pass DOT pre-employment screenings including but not limited to DOT drug test, MVR, physical, Background, Inspection Report, Clearinghouse, and CMV road test.
  • Per the FMCSA, drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) operating in interstate commerce are required to be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Working Conditions
  • Work in all-weather conditions.
  • Safely climb ladders and walk on top of truck tanks.
  • Stand and/or sit for prolonged periods.
  • Lift 50 to 100 lbs.
