Job description

SUMMARY:The Propane Service Technician Apprentice is responsible for assisting the Service Technician leading the service call. The goal is to deliver the desired customer service experience and to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention and increases profitability. Assist with the site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist with cleaning and servicing LP equipment during field visits
  • Assist with transporting, setting, and installing of all variety of LP equipment and tanks
  • Assist with the installation and testing of propane lines and propane powered appliances
  • Provide customers with expert installation and repair service on a variety of LP equipment
  • Follow all company filed procedures and protocols

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE :

  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass CETP (Certified Employee Training Program) within 1st year of employment
  • Must obtain a Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements by the end of first year
  • Must obtain Gas Fitter License by the end of first year
  • Proven trouble shooting qualities
  • Desire to grow and accelerate with the company
  • Good customer relations
  • Ability to have good communication skills used for both the customer and co-workers

While performing the duties of this job in the field, the employee is occasionally exposed to small working spaces, fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions due to weather.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, pull, kneel, crouch or crawl. May need to be in restrictive spaces such as an attic or a crawl space. The employee must occasionally pull, lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
