About the Position
If you are a technically strong underwriter who is passionate about building profitable books of businesses and understands the operations of Propane Gas Distributors -- come join our growing team! The Lead Underwriter is such a unique and meaningful role - it really takes the right person who is excited about helping business owners and their insurance agents & brokers find the best insurance program. Youre innovative and enjoy crafting solutions and being able to deliver a product that is tailored to meet the needs of Propane Gas Distributor accounts.
This is a front-line underwriter and hands-on role. You will play a major role in establishing the underwriting and broker distribution strategy for our new National Propane Gas Distributors Program. Your focus will be to ensure that we are selecting profitable, established, and well-run accounts. Your builders mindset, intelligent use of technology, ownership and solution-orientation will enable you to overcome challenges and establish a new program leader in the Propane Gas Distribution market.
What Youll Do
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Underwriter for the Propane Gas Distributors Program to join our team, responsibilities include:
Focus on underwriting and growing the market share of the NIP Groups PropanePro Program.
Utilize product line subject matter expertise to underwrite LPG accounts by selecting the right risks and negotiating rates, terms and conditions for new business
Through distribution strategy and product form, help expand the program appetite and share of the PropanePro Program.
Manage key broker, producer, insurance industry and client relationships.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align the program strategy with the overall business and underwriting plan of the company. This includes developing and executing the Go to Market plan to ensure a strong presence in key markets and segments.
Measure and optimize portfolio profitability and growth by reviewing and analyzing underwriting data and monitoring industry best practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and application to business strategy.
The Lead PropanePro Underwriter handles the underwriting for the PropanePro Program and reports directly to Program ManagerWhat Were Looking For
Minimum of 5 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience in underwriting LPG risks.
Possess established brokers relationships in the LPG industry.
Proven track record of driving growth and underwriting profit.
Ability to craft an all lines underwriting portfolio strategy and guidelines for the class of business.
Ability to drive cross functional alignment and coordination with sales, operations, and marketing teams.
Excellent written and verbal communicator.
Expert level relationship management and broker distribution skills
Excellent understanding of commercial programs insurance markets, coverage, including key competitors, distribution channels, exposures, and market trendsWhat You'll Receive
