As a propane driver, your job is to deliver propane gas to distribution facilities by driving a truck with a tank attached to the rear. In this role, you may help maintain your delivery vehicle, use a handheld terminal to account for funds and inventory, maintain vehicle records, interact with customers, answer common questions, and occasionally participate in on-call rotations for emergency deliveries. Some propane drivers inspect, repair, and load tanks. Hours can vary, and companies often ask propane drivers to work evening and weekend hours during peak propane season. Propane drivers perform most of their job inside a vehicle, but this position does require some heavy lifting in all weather conditions and temperatures.

Is being a propane driver worth it?

Propane drivers transport and deliver propane, often requiring a commercial driver's license and safety training. The job offers steady employment, physical activity, and the need for good driving skills, but it can involve long hours and handling hazardous materials.
