SUMMARY

The Energy Delivery Driver position is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the refined fuel truck and the L.P. gas truck; this includes the delivery and sales of refined fuels, lubricants, and propane to the customers of the cooperative.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Includes the following and other duties may be assigned.)

Responsible for:

  • Timely and efficient delivery of refined fuels and propane while complying with safety regulations.
  • Maintaining customer records in route book and truck log per DOT regulations.
  • Maintenance of the refined fuel delivery truck and the L.P. gas delivery truck and reporting any concerns to management.
  • Maintaining a clean work area and equipment.
  • Safety checks on customers’ propane system and completing them when required for state and federal regulations.
  • Making out sales tickets as deliveries are made and preparing the daily delivery report.
  • Reporting to management opportunities for increased sales and improved efficiencies in operation of the petroleum department.
  • Operating vehicles, large trucks, forklift, and other equipment in a safe manner and maintaining a safe driving record.
  • Providing a high level of customer service.
  • Promoting and adhering to the company Core Values of honesty, integrity & teamwork.
  • Adherence to safety policies.
  • Adherence to cooperative credit policy.
  • Works with other cooperative staff at other locations to ensure cooperative goals are met.
  • Present a clean and professional appearance.
  • Promptly and regularly report to work and work overtime hours as needed.
  • Employee is required to perform all other duties as directed.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must have a high school diploma or 3-5 years of previous experience within fuel and L.P. Gas Delivery business.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the cooperative.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and weights.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION

Commercial Driver’s License Class A with Haz-Mat Endorsement, Air Brake Endorsement, Tanker Endorsement, and CETP (Certified Employee Training Program) Certification.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations. Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation and labeling.
