As a Box Sorter, you will be responsible for manually processing and sorting boxes to meet PLA's quality standards and production goals. This role involves breaking down, inspecting, stickering, and palletizing boxes. What You'll Be Doing:
As a Box Sorter, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Breaking down boxes that are not received in a broken-down state.
  • Inspecting boxes for damage and assessing their suitability for reuse.
  • Slickening boxes acceptable for reuse by covering their barcodes.
  • Palletizing sorted boxes efficiently by size.
  • Meeting or exceeding daily production requirements, with a standard expectation of at least one pallet per hour.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area throughout the shift.
  • Complying with all PLA policies and procedures, as well as federal and state safety rules.
  • Assisting with other duties as assigned to support and improve overall team operations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of repeatedly handling, lifting, and moving boxes of varying sizes and weights.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for breaking down, inspecting, and stickering boxes.
  • Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions and safety alarms in a warehouse environment.
  • Good vision for inspecting boxes and performing sorting tasks accurately.
Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a warehouse environment. This may include exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures (hot and cold), and moderate noise levels. Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
