Job description

Otway Bakery in Clinton Hill is looking for both skilled pastry/ vienoisserie & bread bakers for full and part time positions. Early AM shifts and weekends are required.

Otway Bakery opened in March 2022 after the bread and pastry programs at Otway Restaurant out grew their original home. We offer a rotating selection of pastries and breads made daily with a focus on locally sourced flours and grains, some of which are milled in-house.

Requirements for Success:

  • Possess a passion for bread or viennoiserie, inquisitive mind, and an eye for quality
  • Strives for continuous improvement and is eager to learn and grow
  • Maintains a positive attitude and works effectively as a member of a team
  • Has a general passion and understanding for all aspects of the baking process: milling, fermentation, mixing, lamination, shaping, and baking
  • Works cleanly and efficiently
  • Ability to follow recipes and techniques
  • Familiarity with bakery equipment: mixers, proofer/retarders, ovens, benchtop mills etc.
  • 1+ years of applicable bakery experience


This is the perfect opportunity for self-motivated individuals to work with exceptional ingredients and be part of a dynamic team in an independently owned and operated high volume bakery.

While performing the duties of the job, our bakers are regularly required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasioanally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
