Overview

Our team of doctors, advanced care providers, nurses, therapists, and researchers provides the region's most advanced medicine at multiple facilities, campuses, clinics, and classrooms. We offer patients convenient access to innovative treatments and advancements that improve the health and overall well-being of our community.


Responsibilities
  • Clean, sanitize, and disinfect mobile medical equipment immediately upon return, adhering to hospital infection control policies, Joint Commission standards, and manufacturer instructions.
  • Correctly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and chemical cleaning agents safety data sheets (SDS) to maintain a sterile processing environment.
  • Utilize asset tracking software, RFID systems, or barcodes to accurately log the movement, location, and status (clean, dirty, in-repair) of all managed devices.
  • Perform routine inventory audits across hospital floors and clean-holding utility rooms to minimize lost assets and ensure balanced stock levels.
  • Prioritize and fulfill routine and emergency (STAT) equipment requests from nursing units, delivering patient-ready devices promptly to the designated bedside or storage area.
  • Retrieve soiled or idle equipment from patient care units to maintain a continuous, efficient turnaround cycle.
  • Perform visual inspections of all equipment during the turnaround process to check for physical damage, frayed cords, missing components, or expired calibration tags.
  • Isolate malfunctioning or damaged equipment, tag it appropriately for maintenance, and route it to the Biomedical Engineering department for formal repair.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to nursing and clinical staff, acting as the primary point of contact for equipment availability and distribution needs.
  • Document daily operational metrics, such as turn times, delivery volumes, and equipment shortages, to help optimize workflow efficiency.
  • Partner closely with Biomedical Engineering and various Facility Maintenance departments to coordinate and ensure all mobile medical equipment undergoes scheduled preventive maintenance (PM).
  • Identify, tag, and isolate malfunctioning or broken equipment, routing it to the appropriate maintenance team for repair, and tracking its status until it is successfully returned to service.
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
