Job description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

The Validation Strategy & Test Architecture (ViSTA) AI/ML team leads the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning into firmware and hardware validation workflows. The team bridges advanced AI capabilities with practical validation engineering to enable datadriven decisionmaking, accelerate validation cycles, and maintain high product quality at scale.

We are seeking a Principal AI/ML Engineer to join the ViSTA AI/ML team. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions that transform firmware and hardware validation. You will work at the intersection of data science, software engineering, and test engineering to build intelligent systems that predict failures, automate analysis, optimize test coverage, and improve validation efficiency across Micron platforms.

Responsibilities

Validation Intelligence & Analytics

  • Develop ML models for automated root cause analysis of validation and test failures

  • Build predictive analytics for failure forecasting and risk identification

  • Design patternrecognition algorithms to identify failure signatures in historical data

  • Create validation intelligence dashboards that support datadriven engineering decisions

Test Optimization

  • Implement AIdriven test selection and prioritization based on code change risk

  • Develop systems to identify test coverage gaps and redundancies

  • Build optimization engines that reduce test runtime while preserving confidence

Automation & Infrastructure

  • Develop AIpowered test generation from requirements and code changes

  • Build adaptive and selfhealing test execution systems using historical performance data

  • Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into validation workflows to improve efficiency

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Partner with firmware, hardware, and system architecture teams to define validation needs

  • Translate validation domain expertise into ML features with validation engineers

  • Collaborate with platform teams to deploy and scale AI/ML solutions

  • Drive AI adoption across validation teams through tooling, guidance, and enablement

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of industry experience with a Bachelor's degree in

Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
