JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Executive Director, the Facility Manager oversees the operations, staffing, maintenance, and programming of the Fitness Center. This role ensures facilities are clean, safe, and efficiently managed while delivering high-quality fitness programs and classes. The Facility Manager supervises staff, manages equipment, oversees contracted fitness instructors and personal trainers, and coordinates maintenance for all assigned facilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises staff in the Adult Fitness Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Hires, trains, schedules, evaluates, and manages staff to ensure smooth facility operations.
  2. Conducts ongoing safety and operational training for staff.
  3. Inspects and maintains facilities, fitness equipment, and custodial services.
  4. Oversees procurement and inventory of fitness and facility supplies.
  5. Independently develops, schedules, and manages fitness programs and classes.
  6. Supervises contracted fitness instructors and personal trainers.
  7. Monitors program participation and adjusts offerings to meet community needs.
  8. Ensures high-quality customer service and maintains a visible presence to support patrons and staff.
  9. Maintains accurate financial, membership, and program records.
  10. Oversees membership software and approves staff overtime as necessary.
  11. Performs general administrative duties including invoice processing, procurement, and budget monitoring.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  2. Two years relevant experience.
  3. Experience developing and managing fitness programs.
  4. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  5. Willingness to attend professional development workshops or conferences.
  6. Current and valid Driver's License.
  7. Current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain; training provided).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  2. Five (5) years customer service or facility management experience.
  3. Supervisory experience.
  4. Experience managing fitness programs and staff.
