40% - Front-desk and office support
  • Greet visitors and serve as the first point of contact in the office. 
  • Provide customer service and direct students, faculty, staff, or visitors to appropriate resources.
  • Answer the phone, take messages, and respond to basic email inquiries.
  • Create, edit, format, copy, scan, and file documents. 
  • Deliver and organize mail and office materials. 
  • Enter data and maintain records, spreadsheets, databases, and contact lists. 
  • Conduct basic research and compile information for reports or projects.
40% - CREES programs & events support
  • Assist in planning and coordination of programs and events such as guest lectures, brown bags, festivals, workshops, and conferences. 
  • Help design and produce flyers and other promotional materials for regular and special events.
  • Help maintain the Center's visibility and profile in social media and website through content creation.
  • Post promotional materials around campus.
  • Represent CREES at events.
20% - SEEES club events support
  • Assist in planning and coordination of the club's events

,The Student Office Assistant supports the staff and director of the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies (CREES). This role includes assisting with the setup, cleanup, tabling, recording, and other support duties for CREES events. Additionally, the Student Office Assistant will support the student-run Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (SEEES) Club by assisting with outreach activities, event support, and administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in Eastern Europe and Eurasia, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Successful candidates will be dependable, punctual, and capable of managing responsibilities and meeting deadlines in a timely manner.
