A growing general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support ground-up multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and ownership teams to help maintain project schedules, procurement, documentation, and overall project coordination.

Projects may include multifamily, affordable housing, mixed-use, podium, wrap, urban infill, and residential developments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into an Assistant Project Manager and eventually a Project Manager role while gaining exposure to all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
  • Assist with procurement and tracking of materials and long-lead equipment
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and project reporting
  • Participate in owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, and project coordination meetings
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify coordination issues
  • Assist with schedule updates, milestone tracking, and reporting
  • Support project closeout activities including punch lists and turnover documentation
  • Help maintain schedule and budget goals through proactive coordination
  • Work closely with field teams to ensure alignment between office and field operations

Requirements
  • 1–5+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or similar role
  • Ground-up multifamily construction experience preferred
  • Experience with podium, wrap, affordable housing, mixed-use, wood-frame, or urban infill projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation and subcontractor coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience supporting procurement, project controls, and field coordination preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced construction environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience on projects ranging from 50–300+ units preferred

Compensation & Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • Vehicle allowance or reimbursement program
  • Strong multifamily project pipeline
  • Clear growth path into Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager roles
