JOB SUMMARY
The Project/Program Manager 1 is responsible for planning, executing, and managing projects/programs within the department. They will coordinate cross-functional teams, oversee project/program timelines and budgets, and ensure successful project/program delivery in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement project/program plans, including defining goals, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and alignment throughout the project/program lifecycle.
  • Monitor and track project/program progress, identifying potential risks, issues, and deviations from plans, and proactively implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project/program budgets, including tracking expenses, controlling costs, and ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Establish and maintain project/program documentation, including project charters, work breakdown structures, project/program schedules, and status reports.
  • Facilitate regular project/program meetings, providing updates, resolving issues, and fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Ensure adherence to project/program management methodologies, standards, and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct regular project/program evaluations and post-implementation reviews, capturing lessons learned and applying them to future projects/programs.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize project/program requirements, scope, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners/vendors to secure necessary resources, materials, and services to support project/program execution.
  • Foster effective communication and stakeholder engagement, providing timely and accurate project/program updates and status reports.
  • Implement and maintain project/program management tools and systems, ensuring efficient documentation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
  • Support the development and implementation of project/program-related policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Mentor and guide junior project/program team members, providing guidance, coaching, and support as needed.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and project/program management best practices, and apply them to enhance project/program outcomes.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree

WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in project/program management
SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
  • Strong knowledge of project/program management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Proven experience in managing projects/programs from initiation to completion, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and implementing practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in using project management software and tools for planning, scheduling, and tracking project/program progress.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, fostering collaboration and building positive relationships.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project/program team members.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles related to project/program management.
  • Professional certifications in project/program management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are desirable.
  • Passion for project/program management and driving successful outcomes in a dynamic organizational setting.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees, but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing typically involves monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of same duties they are leading.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.
BUDGET AUTHORITY
No budget development activity is required.
PROBLEM SOLVING
Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude, but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.
IMPACT OF DECISIONS
Decisions have minor, small and possibly incremental impact on the department or facility. Errors are usually discovered in succeeding operations where most of the work is verified or checked and is normally confined to a single department or phase of the organizational activities resulting in brief inconvenience.
COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS
Collaborate and solve problems - works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
Takes routine or required customer actions to meet customer needs. Responds promptly and accurately to customer complaints, inquiries and requests for information and coordinates appropriate follow-up. May handle escalated issues passed on from coworkers or subordinates.
WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
Ability to carry and/or lift less than 15 pounds.
