Job description

Senior Project Manager—plans, monitors, and manages internal/external projects from initiation through completion; participates in management of strategic programs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional project teams (internal and external service providers).
  • Manage projects end-to-end (initiation, execution, closure); evaluate, analyze, plan, organize, and execute.
  • Oversee internal/external tasks to meet objectives; may serve as primary project contact.
  • Concurrently manage 3+ projects/programs across different life-cycle stages.
  • Present updates to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Define schedules prior to initiation (project charters, milestones, roles/responsibilities).
  • Oversee schedule and budget; manage workstream interdependencies and plan baselines.
  • Communicate and influence stakeholders; identify risks/issues and develop mitigation strategies; escalat
  • Implement tools/best practices/technology for Corporate Program Management and support strategic interdepartmental objectives.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering or technical discipline.
  • 5+ years in pharmaceutical/medical device/life sciences.
  • 5+ years in project/program management.
  • PMP certification (PMI PMP) or equivalent.
  • Experience under tight timelines; analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal/written communication; ability to negotiate (plus).
  • Leadership and emotional intelligence.
  • Knowledge of drug/medical device development and lifecycle; FDA and ICH guidance.
  • Proficient in MS Office and tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
  • Ability to apply PMP principles; build business cases.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Manage 3rd-party vendors and external partners.
  • Manage activities across multiple sites/locations; matrix organization.
  • Budget/financial tracking and contingency planning.
  • Understanding of strategic issues and their operational impact.
