How many jobs should a project manager have?

A project manager typically holds one primary job at a time, focusing on managing projects within a specific organization or team. In some cases, experienced project managers may oversee multiple projects simultaneously, especially if they have strong organizational skills and use project management tools like MS Project or Jira. However, balancing multiple roles can impact project success and workload management.

Do I have to tell my employer about a 2nd job?

As a project manager, whether you need to inform your employer about a second job depends on your employment contract and company policies. Generally, if the second job could create a conflict of interest or affect your performance, disclosure is advisable. It's important to review your company's rules and possibly discuss with your supervisor to ensure transparency and compliance.
