Job description

The Royal Group, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a Manager, Retail Display Project Management, to support our TRG Retail Division. The Manager, Retail Display Project Management leads the distributed Temporary Display Project Management organization and is accountable for team performance, client execution, workload allocation, talent development, operating discipline, and cross-plant coordination. The role leads the Lead Project Manager and Project Managers across multiple locations.
This leader partners closely with Sales and Account Management to translate customer commitments into executable plans while preserving clear commercial ownership. The manager also coordinates semi-permanent and multi-material programs when Temporary and Permanent Display capabilities must work together.
TRG Retail is leveraging relationships and capabilities across The Royal Group and Schwarz Partners network to grow the retail display business. Success requires constructive, timely, and solution-oriented communication with plant partners, consistent system compliance, and leadership that builds a scalable PM organization without routine executive intervention.
The Royal Group's mission is to provide value-added solutions to the most demanding customers
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Lead, coach, evaluate, and develop the Temporary Display Project Management team, including goal setting, performance management, onboarding, and succession planning.
  • Establish and maintain one Project Management standard across Temporary Displays, including clear ownership, documentation, system compliance, communication, handoffs, and escalation discipline.
  • Own PM workload allocation, project assignments, capacity visibility, and staffing recommendations across locations, customers, and sales teams.
  • Serve as the client-facing execution leader for Sales and Account Management; own routine execution communication and recovery while commercial strategy, pricing, and relationship ownership remain with Sales or Account Management.
  • Build constructive working relationships with TRG and Schwarz plant, operations, fulfillment, engineering, sourcing, and supplier partners to support network growth and reliable execution.
  • Govern complex Temporary Display programs from commercial handoff through delivery and closeout, ensuring milestones, dependencies, quality, cost, margin exposure, and customer risks are visible and actively managed.
  • Lead cross-functional semi-permanent and multi-material programs that require coordination between Temporary and Permanent Display teams, with explicit owners, decision rights, and handoffs.
  • Lead the PM operating cadence and scorecards for portfolio health, workload, milestones, system compliance, project risk, customer escalations, and PM performance.
  • Own routine recovery plans and escalations; require a defined problem, root cause, recommendation, owner, timeline, and next step before escalating unresolved issues.
  • Partner with the Lead Project Manager on process compliance, system accuracy, documentation standards, training support, and first-line team triage while retaining full accountability for department performance.
  • Partner with Estimating, Creative, Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, Fulfillment, Accounting, and Quality to improve project intake, handoffs, cost control, change management, and closeout.
  • Recruit and recommend talent needed to strengthen the PM organization, including experienced Temporary Display and multi-material capability.
  • Maintain sufficient knowledge of TRG systems and project workflows to govern performance, audit compliance, and coach the team effectively.
  • Temporarily lead a strategic or distressed program when material customer or business risk requires intervention; do not carry a standing project portfolio after onboarding.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, maintain regular and predictable attendance, and perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations, project management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent retail-display leadership experience will be considered.
  • Eight or more years of progressive project management experience in retail displays, point-of-purchase/point-of-sale, or a comparable physical-product manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated Temporary Display experience is required.
  • Three or more years of direct people-leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, workload allocation, and talent development.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, client-facing programs across multiple functions, locations, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
  • Experience leading a distributed or remote project management team.
  • Experience with ERP, estimating, scheduling, and project-management systems in a manufacturing environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience with semi-permanent displays, multi-material programs, and collaboration with Permanent Display teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Strong leadership judgment, accountability, delegation, and decision-making.
  • Executive-level written, verbal, meeting, and client communication skills.
  • Ability to build constructive cross-plant relationships and align partners around shared customer and growth objectives.
  • Ability to interpret project schedules, estimates, project cost forms, scope changes, manufacturing risks, and recovery plans.
  • Strong system discipline, data accuracy, follow-through, and ability to convert recurring issues into standards and operating rhythms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and govern TRG business systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 35%, with heavier travel during onboarding and major program launches.

AS AN INDUSTRY LEADER, THE ROYAL GROUP OFFERS:
  • Year-round employment for job stability.
  • Unlimited opportunities for growth, training, and career advancement.
  • Exceptional pay and great, affordable benefits (including life, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match and more!).
  • A clean facility, featuring state-of-the-art technology.
  • A respectful, empowering, team-oriented and employee-friendly environment.
  • The Royal Group truly values our employees as our greatest asset, and we strive to support both you and your family at work and in life.
